The 1984 men’s soccer team established a new school standard for victories as the Quakers won the College Athletic Conference and Illinois-Indiana College Soccer Conference championships with a 14-6 record.

Earlham Athletics Hall of Fame member Paul Schroeder was the team’s leading scorer with 15 goals and seven assists for 37 points. He was selected as a third team National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-American as well as all-conference in both leagues. He was also NAIA All-District 21.

Bill Vaselopulos was on the All-CAC and All-IICSC teams. John Brueggemann, David Bowles and John Carter were named All-CAC. Korben Perry was named to the All-NAIA District 21 team.

The Team members were: Kevin Beierle, Todd Benner, Dave Bowles, John Brueggemann, John Carter, Charles Clark, Wayne Copeland, John Dekadt, Addison Grimes, Mark Herzer, Manoj Khettry, Dave Kichler, Mark Ledden, Richard Larson, Eric Lowenstein, Shane Meridith, Yacob Mulugetta, Tim Newlin, Korben Perry, Rob Richardson, David Rosenthal, Paul Schroeder, Bill Stassen, Nick Steenberg, James (Luke) Uetrecht and Bill Vaselopulos. The head coach was Roy Messer and Charlie Matlack was the assistant.
