David McGuire was a four-year men’s basketball player for Earlham College from 1977-81 and he remains third on the Quakers all-time scoring list with 1,926 points.

He averaged 19.6 points per game in his career. He also established an Earlham season record with a scoring average of 23.8 in 1978-79.

McGuire earned All-Hoosier Buckeye Collegiate Conference First Team honors three times, while being named NAIA District 21 First Team twice and honorable mention once. He was also a three-time team Most Valuable Player.

He received the Blair Guillion Leadership Award and the George Van Dyke Award in 1981.

An Account Executive at Edict Systems, McGuire resides in Dayton, Ohio.
