Mike Martin was a three-sport athlete at Earlham College prior to his graduation in 1968. He was awarded the George Van Dyke Award given to the most valuable senior athlete. He was a 4-year letterwinner in basketball and baseball. He played football for three years, lettering twice. Mike, who was voted to Indiana College All-Star team in 1968, is the fourth all-time leading scorer in men's basketball at Earlham with 1,821 points. He scored 635 points in ’67-68 season, which is the second highest total in Earlham history. Mike also set a record with 279 field goals in 1967-68 and had two other 500-point seasons. Mike was selected to the NAIA District 21 First Team two times and at one time held 14 Earlham scoring records.
