Eric Berg was a 4-year basketball player for the Quakers from 1964-68 and served as team captain for three seasons. During his first season at Earlham the Quakers finished 2-19. During Berg’s sophomore year, Earlham Athletics Hall of Famer Del Harris arrived on campus and by his senior year, the squad posted a 25-3 mark, which is still the most wins in a season for Earlham. Berg was All-Hoosier Collegiate Conference as a junior and was the Most Valuable Player of the City of Richmond Tournament as a senior.

He received the Blair Gullion Award and was one of the first recipients of the Wendel M. Stanley Scholar Athlete Award. Berg left Earlham as the third leading scorer in school history. His 1,171 career points now places him in 15th spot on the all-time basketball scoring list.
